What a cool new blog community I've found! Kristen hosts it each week and I found a lot of cool tips. Visit her blog to see what's up!
Now for my tip: I actually took it from a lady in our church (she freely suggested it and I implemented it).
Evenings are always a circus in our home. M, our three year old, just winds himself up and is crazy while I'm fixing dinner or cleaning up after dinner. His behavior helps L, our nine year old, send her behavior to the roof, even though I'm trying to get her to work with me...then L2 jumps in with crying and wanting feed. Then we "sit down" to eat. L2 is smashing food all over her face and trying to steal the spoon from me. M is standing on his chair singing at the top of his lungs. L is trying to tell Glen about her day...and me - I'm just a vegetable... Then after clean up, it's time for showers and bed...seems to offer more opportunity for pandemonium. Anyways, here's my tip; everyone settles into the living room on the sofas and we listen to recorded Scripture. It helps the kids unwind and puts scripture in their heads. It helps Glen and I focus on God and His word. After 30 minutes of listening, the two little ones are asleep and L is relaxed and ready for bed (tonight all children and Glen were asleep). That simple - God's word recorded and read to us...Thanks, Anne!
